I didn't have to search for legacy drivers or anything else. The PC recognized the new firewire card and Windows assigned a driver to it automatically. I first tried installing the firewire card in the black one, but that didn't work, as the computer had troubles in the power-on process, sometimes freezing! So, my question is: anybody out there using a similar setup to mine?: The one I'm using so far with the old PC is a PCI one, Texas Instruments chipset, but the new PC only The IO26 is great, and I don't want to get rid of it!!!Īdditionally, I'll need to buy as well a new Firewire internal card for the computer, to connect the IO26 to it. I am pretty scared about the IO26 in combination with this new PC and Windows OS. Still waiting to receive it and install everything. Now I've purchased an i7 + 16GB RAM + W10 Pro computer for a studio upgrade. No problems so far, very stable and solid recordings. I've got an Alesis IO26 since long ago, running with a pretty old PC, W7 and W7 Alesis FW official drivers.
